18th Ave. Residence.
An early-1900s home, with Artisan by SM cabinetry custom-matched to the original woodwork, stain, and built-ins.
Original to the architecture.
This early-1900s home called for cabinetry that felt original to the architecture rather than newly added. The goal was to carefully match the existing woodwork, stain, and built-ins while introducing the functionality of a completely custom design.
Using Artisan by SM cabinetry, we created a custom stain and paint match that blends naturally with the home’s historic trim and character. The Bonita door style with flush inset construction keeps the cabinetry refined and period-appropriate, while custom glass doors and floating shelves add lighter, more decorative moments throughout the space.
Every detail was designed around the existing home, from the proportions and finishes to the way the new cabinetry relates to the original millwork. We worked closely with the contractor throughout the project to keep the installation and overall remodel moving smoothly.
The result is a space that feels like it has always belonged in the home: custom, functional, and respectful of the original architecture. The client loved both the custom finish match and the completed project.
