The NW Portland Remodel.
Maker Series Evereve doors in a Nocturnal stain on oak: a contractor remodeled his own home with the high end finishes he installs for clients.
When a contractor remodels his own home, watch what he orders.
Contractors see every cabinet line on the market. They know which boxes show up out of square, which finishes chip on install day, and which brands cost them callbacks. So when this contractor remodeled his own NW Portland home, the cabinet order meant something: Built Maker Series, Evereve doors, and a Nocturnal stain on real oak.
The brief was high end, front to back. Pro grade appliances. A quartz island with seating for five. And real stained oak instead of a printed grain, dark enough to anchor the room against the white oak floors.
Built delivered the kitchen fully assembled and factory finished. Nocturnal is a stain, so the oak grain reads through the dark finish in the window light. Off the truck, into the house, and installed on the schedule only a contractor would set for his own project.
Stained oak, not a lookalike
Nocturnal is a stain, not a paint, so the grain stays visible through the dark finish. In a room this bright, that texture is the difference between a dark box and a piece of furniture.
A contractor grade spec
High end appliances, quartz counters, and cabinetry picked by someone who installs kitchens for a living. The finishes he recommends to his clients are the ones he put in his own house.

The Island
Quartz with seating for five, wrapped in Nocturnal stained oak.

The Approach
Tile gives way to white oak at the kitchen line, with a wine fridge built into the pass-through.
